Hello Everyone,

My name is Fritz Thompson, and this is how my wife and I took the situation of being stationed in an unusually small town in Oklahoma and turned it into a series of adventures.

Over a year ago, I started the journey with my wife Kelly from the Northeast to the Midwest. We were brought here due to my military service, and she had never lived anywhere outside of the Northeast. Thoughts of the unknown weighed heavily on her, but it didn’t take us long to realize the benefits of being here. We took this new landscape as an opportunity for adventure.

Being in Southwestern Oklahoma provided my wife and I with a unique vantage point to explore the country. The centralized location of Oklahoma within the United States has afforded us convenient access to various regions and destinations. Our proximity to major highways has made traveling to different states and cities relatively easy. This enables us to embark on memorable road trips. This has also given us the ability to visit places we might not have otherwise.

Instead of focusing on the negatives of living in an unideal area, we decided to embrace it. We found our way to enjoy our time together and to experience the wonders of middle America. We gained a new perspective of how great things can be found if people are willing to look for it. Even in unideal conditions, it’s possible. Whether it’s taking weekend getaways to neighboring states, immersing ourselves in different cultures, or appreciating the nation’s natural wonders, Oklahoma’s strategic placement has enriched our lives with the chance to experience the breadth and beauty of the United States.
